Leslie is a certified yoga teacher and has completed the 100 hour Mindful Yoga Therapy teacher training offered by the Give Back Yoga FoundationTM. She specializes in teaching people how to use mindfulness practices to lower anxiety and manage stress in their lives. Her clients have found these techniques to be highly effective during chaotic moments, both personal and professional, when they need to be present with a calm and clear mind.
Leslie’s classes integrate the practices of breathing techniques, mindful movement, meditation, gratitude, and yoga nidra to cultivate inner peace, strength, flexibility, and overall health and well- being. Leslie’s philosophy that “yoga is for everyone (truly!)” is reflected through gentle and mindful movement, in which participants learn to use body, breath, and mind to find balance and equilibrium, regardless of fitness level. Participants in her classes range from teens through senior citizens, from athletes to those who have physical disabilities, and people recovering from post- traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression.
Leslie holds a master’s degree in education from Iona College and her 27 year teaching career in the Bronx and Westchester has spanned the spectrum from pre-kindergarten to middle school. Leslie is currently working in the veteran community with the Sierra Club throughout the Northeastand in Texas, where her classes have positively impacted the lives of thousands of veterans and their families through our nation’s largest grass roots organization.
An active volunteer in her community, Leslie is the proud mother of 3 adult sons and lives in Mahopac, NY with her life partner Aaron.
