Alexa’s first introduction to yoga was in 1998 in a tiny New York City community yoga studio… it was there that she discovered a connection not only to her own body, but a deeper connection to the world around her. She founded Yoga Sol to help nourish and expand the yoga community in the town she and her son call home.
A yoga teacher, practicing licensed psychotherapist, Reiki practitioner, and sometimes professional actress- Alexa has found a way to let her passions each give an intrinsic value to the others. She believes that emotional healing and transformation are possible through regular yoga practice. She had the recent honor of training with two of her “mental health yoga” mentors: Amy Weintraub and Gary Kraftsow. Alexa was certified through Yogaworks and continues her life-long journey studying how yoga affects the brain, body and emotions- from both psychological, and yogic perspectives.
Alexa creates classes that help guide students to find acceptance and expansion their bodies, hearts and minds and the ability to explore their own individual “edges.” Her classes are a combination of Vinyasa, Restorative yoga poses and philosophy- with a focus on the breath, releasing physical tension, building strength and healing, all while quieting the mind.
