Yoga Sol Kids Winter, 2017 Schedule

Classes begin the week of January 9th

Young Budding Yogis (co-ed, 4-6) 

Fridays, 3:15-4pm with Kristy Cohen (no class 2/24) 12 classes- $216.

Children will develop body awareness through basic yoga poses and will acquire the tools for self-regulation and centering through mindfulness. The practice will take place in a safe and compassionate environment.The methodology is inspired by Little Flower Yoga, founded locally in Croton-on-Hudson. Kristy has taught kids’ yoga for over a decade and holds an M.A.ED (pre-k-6th grade).

Budding Yogis (co-ed 5-9 yrs)

Tuesdays, 4- 4:45pm with Kristi Lynch (no classes 2/21, 3/21) 12 classes- $216.

Fridays, 4:15pm- 5:00pm with Kristy Cohen (no class 2/24) 12 classes- $216

Students learn how everyday physical, mental and emotional challenges can be recognized and managed through the use of yoga poses, breath work and visualizations.

Tween Yoga (Young Warriors for middle school girls) (girls 10-13 yrs)

Tuesdays, 5-6pm with Cathy Anfiteatro (no class 2/21, 3/21) 12 classes- $216. Thursdays CLASS IS FULL, 4:30-5:30pm with Cathy Anfiteatro (no class 2/23) 12 classes- 216.

Tween stress is becoming more widely understood and common. Participating in a yoga practice can help teens relieve this stress, explore who they are, and provide a positive influence of themselves and their bodies for the rest of their lives. Tween yoga classes will offer tools to guide students in self exploration, provide ways to handle stress, anger, anxiety, depression and other challenges facing this transitional time from child to teenager.

Young Warriors (Yoga and Mindfulness for middle school boys) (boys 9-13 yrs)

Thursdays 3:30-4:15pm, instructor Argos Gonzalez (no class 2/23) 12 classes- $216.

A fun and challenging yoga class that meets tween boys right where they are. Laughter and energy are highly encouraged! The focus is on feeling good in your body and understanding how that leads to feeling good about yourself in every way. The boys build strength, balance and flexibility while they learn breathing and stillness techniques to help calm the senses.

Gratitude Yoga with Ali- Thanksgiving Day 11am-12:30pm

Join Ali this Thanksgiving Day from 11am-12:30pm to give thanks and practice gratitude. Get the kinks out on your mat so your heart is open for family and friends.

This is an all-level Vinyasa class. Modifications will be given.

Registration is recommended because this class fills up quickly.

This is a donation class- all proceeds go to help Syrian Refugees (suggested donation $20)

In celebration of our anniversary we are having a FREE Vinyasa class set 80’s music this Friday night 9/30,

Yin Yoga with Kristy Wednesdays 9:30-10:45am

Yin Yoga Will Teach Your Dog New Tricks


After a decade of visiting Omega, a retreat center located in Rhinebeck NY, for Yogis and the like, who knew that just South of the dining hall a unassuming wooded path leads one to discover a tranquil Cedar Pavilion. The perfect place to spend the next week deepening my understanding and practice of Yin Yoga. So what is Yin Yoga and why would one practice it? It is commonly referred to as the quiet practice and in many ways it is complimentary to a Hatha yoga practice. Although you may find yourself in a familiar seated pose in a Yin class, due to it’s contrasting approach, these poses have been renamed, for example, what we know as pigeon pose is called the sleeping swan. Where as Hatha Yoga is a yang practice that emphasizes strength and endurance, in Yin we meet on the mat to simply surrender to gravity’s pull, to emphasize a stretching the fascia or connective tissue. As we see in the ancient Yin and Yang symbol, depicted by the white and black dots, both parts contain the seed of the other; meaning one can not exist without the other. Such is the duality of life, but in the recesses of this gentle practice there is an opening, a portal to access one’s connection to the eternal. Yin is synonymous with words like passive, feminine, soft, yielding and surrender, and this is exactly what will be asked of you on the mat. Compared to a traditional seated meditation, Yin Yoga is simply a mind-body meditation, a mindful dance between stillness and movement. Poses are held for longer periods, typically five minutes, and sometimes longer.
